X-Com apocalypse. I also got myself Arma2 which is too buggy to be fun (in MP it BREAKS), and IL-2 in an occassion with Joq and Knyght. Funny, I thought that game was the pinnacle of its type at the time, but now I'm craving for so much more - such as more varied missions.

Agreed about Arma2 - I've got this one and was surprised to find out that it's slow and buggy even on my GF8800... I really liked Operation Flashpoint and Arma so I am waiting for patches to get fun out of Arma2. Also played IL-2 some years ago  :)

Not really.
It's not as simple and straightforward as the original. It doesn't have the same replay value either, since very few things (if any) are randomized in each new game. It's more of an adventure/rpg game, where you just travel around, solving quests you get from the NPCs, earn experience points, level up and improve your skills. There are lots of battles too, which don't differ that much from the HOMM.

It's still a nice game. If you can get it for cheap, then it's worth the try.

Right now, finishing up Drowned God and Obsidian.

Trying to talk myself into finishing Anachronox.

Also have Morrowind and The Riddle of Master Lu on deck.

Someday I'm going to have to do that too.  I was really close to the end.  Some of the bugs (i.e. bugs that remained after the second patch) were starting to get to me - what's the point of trying to track down every TACO if they're just going to respawn?  I was also annoyed that I'd missed so many of the Cobalt Crawlers.  (Bugs, geddit?)

Luckily, I've had a bug-free experience so far.  I've gotten along pretty well without having to cash the TACOs in.  I'm at the very end of the game, but I just haven't felt like going back to it yet.  The combat is getting more repetitive though.  Which may have something to do with it.

He-he. I finished A-nox, and even re-play all four sub-paths for optional crash quests - from Superhero to Star Wars. :)

Unfortunately, it was before last patches, so I miss detective side quest (is it have rational explanation?) and never was in Tower. :(
