Personally, I found Starflight 2 to be on par if not slightly better than the first iteration. It has one gripe-able drawback: mining won't get you far at all; rather, you have to trade merchandise. On the other hand, there are more races to encounter and each has it's own personality and on top of that you can sometimes trade crew members. The thrill of exploration is still there as well as the thrill of the dangerous unknown.

thenixon79: Not counting that turd called 'Protostar', Starflight 3 has been in development for over a decade and 'the game' seems to be to break the record for oldest vaporware. With so many others trying and failing to produce a sequel and the decided lack of any other game showing that kind of game play, it's like there's a cosmic cock-block against it. It's like Don Quixote's curse.

At first this game seems like it might be as interesting as Starflight; however, that feeling quickly disappears. The bar has one person to talk to, there is little if any intrigue in exploring planets, and most of the plot involves destroying enemy ships. This is a bad knock-off of Wing Commander which was rushed out the door. It's shameful the magic of Starflight had to die this way.
