Summary

Gary Grigsby's updated version of Carrier Force, it did not have the graphic capabilities of [SSG's] Carriers at War II, but it did have a campaign option.While I considered this to be a worthwhile option, I do have to admit that my then-fifteen year old son would not even bother booting this up, although he was fascinated with Carriers at War. In summary, I would recommend this to the grognard, while Carriers at War has more appeal to the MTV generation. [excerpt from M. Evan Brooks' Homepage]

This is a good carrier strategy game. Its interface is similar to Gary Grigby's Pacific War and War in Russia. This game focuses on the carrier battles of the Pacific in WW2. The game play revolves around carrier air operations. As an admiral, you will plan the Search, Combat Air Patrol (CAP), and Strike missions. It includes all the major carrier battles as scenarios as well as a campaign mode. There are a number of interface quirks that require the player to dig deeper into the manual such as setting up large strike missions. The graphics are OK for an early 90s game. It runs in DOS mode only.
